First off, your film has to be quality, that shroud go without question. This does not mean it has to be the best looking, have the most special effects, biggest name actors, but it does mean that you need to do the basics well. The good news is that is pretty easy if you know what to be mindful of.
There are many screenwriters out there, but the fact of the matter is most are just gambling creatively. They are banking on a lottery that they happen to write something of quality that is worth being made. Some of them are very well trained and educated as well, but they are still merely lucky if anything they ever write gets considered, let alone made.
The Hollywood machine wants to produce stars because it is about making money and building valuable assets. The thing is… do you need to go to Hollywood to be that? No. You can go there if you like, but it’s not as much about being there as it is about setting yourself up for them to want you to be.

It’s not the money that stops you from making you movie, it’s you who does. The real thing that stops people in any endeavour is the internal limitations they have, not the external ones. It’s our lack of understanding about how to do more with less that makes our dreams seem impossible.
Here are some tried and true methods on how to deal with writer’s block and overcome it. This is a battle you may have to wage many times before you have won the war, but you can do it. Just take this advice, apply it and watch the magic happen.
Moving the camera is an important ability for filmmakers to develop when they work on visual storytelling, but when they do it randomly they will get mixed results. This will outline how to think about moving the camera so that you can make less mistakes on your next time out. Look for these red flags.
If these things start happening you need to make some decisions. Since I don’t believe in just finding problems, I am also going to give you some solutions to each of these things so you know how to deal with them. Your movie does not have to suck, even if any of these big warning signs pop up for you.
What is risky? What is interesting? How will you know that you are being that? How will you know that others will know that you are being that? Is what you find interesting what someone else will find interesting? Is your risky the same as a casting director’s risky? …it’s completely unknowable.
